Oh most Holy and Mysterious God,
the One us by name,
Help us find our way in this time of chaos and stress
The earth and its people are hurting and scared,
We are attached in our bodies, minds and souls by that which we cannot see.
Do You not care for your creation, for your people?
All has been upended, lives are lost, jobs are lost, and we do not know which way to go.
What is our sin? What have we done to cause this? What is just and right now? .
Save us from this this scurge and from ourselves. The selfish do not care and put others at risk. The haughty think they are immune.The greedy take advantage of this situation and of others.
Nevertheless, we will endure, we will survive. Your loving presence is with us, and it will see us through.
Do not hide yourself from us, join us in our suffering.
Remind us of the times gone by of when our ancestors faced the unknown with courage and faith.
You have established the inner workings of biological matters, and given understanding to your people. Empower us to join together as never before, to think of others, to reach out to those who need our help while also keeping a safe distance, and provide us with an abundance of patience and strength for the days ahead.
You are our hope and trust. God of all times and all situations, we praise your name, and your ways. Oh Great God, show the earth once again what love is, and who is the architect of grace - You are!
