This assignment really highlighted the importance of relationships. The moderator was able to accomplish a safe, intimate atmosphere surrounding a fairly emotional meeting due to her maintenance of relationships outside of the meeting. She also did a great job of providing emotional support. It was clear that she paid close attention and responded to the unique emotional needs in the room.
