    Welcome Doctor of Ministry Students

    Welcome to Lancaster Theological Seminary! This online orientation course is designed to help you become acquainted with the seminary, register for courses and purchase text books, develop proficiency in using our online learning platform, discover the resources available to you through the Schaff Library, and introduce you to the Business Office. 

    Throughout the course are checkboxes that will appear checked when you have completed the requirement. These will help you keep track of tasks you still need to complete.

    • Announcements Forum
      This is where we will post announcements and general reminders. You will receive copies in your lancasterseminary.edu email account.
    • Q & A Forum

      Post any questions you have regarding orientation to the Doctor of Ministry program. Any and all questions are encouraged. To post a new question, click "Add a new discussion topic."

  • Campus Information

    Please remember that we will be taking photos on Monday, October 15 so that we may issue your student IDs. These IDs are necessary for you to access reciprocal benefits at Franklin & Marshall College (library privileges, athletic facilities, etc.) and to receive student discounts.

    • October 14 Dinner RSVP Choice

      You are invited to an informal supper to welcome you to campus on the evening of Sunday, October 14, starting with a communion service in Santee Chapel at 6:00 p.m. Will you be joining us?

       

    • Campus Map File

      The west parking lot is available to students after 4:00 p.m. Most buildings are locked after 5:00 p.m. See the Business Office section below for more information about parking tags, fob access to buildings, and room reservations.

    • Lancaster Seminary's Public Events Calendar URL

      Events may also be found within Moodle. The Seminary Events Calendar block on the right side of the site displays events of interest to students. The Events link on the menu bar above displays events from your Moodle courses. 

    • Lancaster Seminary Google Groups URL

      When your lancasterseminary.edu email account was created, you were automatically added to several Google Groups. DMin@lancasterseminary.edu is a group email list for all doctoral students and any doctoral student may post to it. The Campus Happenings email list, happenings@lancasterseminary.edu, is for community-related announcements and includes students, faculty, staff, and alumni/ae. Manage your delivery settings and view archived posts in the Google Groups interface.

  • Sonis: Course Registration Information

    Your academic records and course registration is managed in Sonis. This is also where you will complete course evaluations before receiving your final grades at the end of every semester.

  • MBS Direct: Online Bookstore

    MBS Direct LogoOur online bookstore is managed by MBS Direct. Use their website to access the lists of textbooks for your courses. Textbooks purchased through MBS Direct may be returned hassle-free if the books for the course change before the start of classes.

  • Moodle: Virtual Campus for Online Learning

    If you've gotten this far in the orientation, you must be getting along pretty well with Moodle. You will be using Moodle for all of your courses and it offers many additional features to support your learning. 

    • Learning with Moodle URL

      This guide introduces Moodle, provides some basic how-to's, and links to our Moodle Support form. If you have questions about Moodle, this is the first place to look for answers.

    • Practice Forum

      Forums are essential to online course participation. In order to become more familiar with how forums work, you are invited to practice in this forum. Create a new discussion topic to introduce yourself. Then, respond to at least one post made by someone else.

      You are welcome to share whatever you are most comfortable sharing, or use this opening prompt:

  • Schaff Library

    Students are able to log in to their library accounts with their lancasterseminary.edu account credentials. 

    Lancaster Theological Seminary participates in the SEPTLA reciprocal borrowing program and the ATLA reciprocal borrowing program. Students wishing to borrow books from a participating library in either of these programs should contact the library beforehand to obtain an enrollment verification form.

     

     

  • Business Office

    The Business Office is located on the second floor of the library building and is open weekdays 8:30-5:00 (closed daily for lunch, 1:00-2:00). The staff in this office take care of the following requests:

    • Parking tags
    • Fobs for access to Lark
    • Reservations for Richards Hall and student apartments
    • Reservations for meeting rooms
    • 1098T forms for tax reporting

    • Fee Schedule for the 2018-19 Academic Year URL

      After your registration for classes is complete, your bill will be available in Sonis. Also use Sonis to check your account balance.

      Be advised that statements must be paid to zero balance in order to register or graduate. Contact the Business Office to set up a payment plan. Deferred payment arrangements may be made if necessary.
