This course examines the ethical obligations and
moral expectations of ministerial leaders in varied contexts. Through course
readings, case studies, discussion, and writing assignments, students explore
the nature of the ministerial role, basic ethical approaches, and the moral
dimensions of practices of ministry. The course examines ministry as vocation
and profession; fiduciary duty and confidentiality; the use and abuse of power;
sexuality and boundary setting; and the public role of ministerial leaders.
